Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii receives surplus funds from
$2M American Savings Bank settlement
he lawsuit was among a group of cases filed by Perkin &
Faria in 2011 against American Savings Bank, Central Pacific Bank and Bank of
Hawaii. The suits alleged that the banks used improper methods of calculating
overdraft fees on debit card and ATM transactions.
